Elafonisi Day Trip From Chania
How long does it take to get to Elafonissi Lagoon from Chania? It takes around 1.5 hour by car and around 2 hour by bus.
Our Elafonisi Day Trip From Chania takes you to the stunning pink beach – Elafonissi directly, where you can relax on the beach with cold beers and swim or snorkel in the crystal clear waters.
We will pick you up from Chania in the morning, and then you can relax and enjoy the gorgeous mountain views on the way to Elafonissi. There will be a morning stop for a coffee and a lunch stop in the mountain village as well 🙂
Elafonissi Island has two parts. It’s always busier on the first beach. There is a snack bar where you can buy cold drinks and sandwiches. There are also sunbeds to rent on the main beach. For those want to have more privacy can have a 15-20 min walk to the second part of Elafonisi. The 2nd part is a wild beach with full of dunes which is more quiet and perfect for snorkeling. I personally prefer the wild beach because there are no umbrellas around and it’s deep enough to swim and snorkel 🙂 Sometime you can see the sea turtles Caretta-Caretta if you’re lucky.
There are several rare animals nest on the island and it is not allowed to remove any plants, animals from this protected area. Stunning beach with white sand and turquoise waters, reminding of the Caribbean, are formed on either sides of the peninsula. The sand is pinkish in some places, taking its color from thousands of broken shells.
Around 17:00-18:00 You will arrival at your hotel in Chania.
You shouldn’t miss visiting Elafonisi when you travel to Crete!
We recommend you to book in advance to avoid fully booked. Because it is very busy in high season.

Our stop in Elos Village was a lovely touch. It was authentic and peaceful, with a chance to stretch our legs, enjoy a coffee, and visit more traditional side of Crete.

Everything was well planned. Transportation was comfortable, timing was well planned, and the guide was friendly, informative, and always available without being intrusive.
